The manufactures go with what the BEAN counters recommend and they don't know squat about what we go through out here to keep safe. Greenball would not talk to me when they figured that fleetwood used a to light of tire on my 5th wheel.
"D"s came on the trailer, 37'9" Fleetwoods recommendations. Me and the dealer fought with Fleetwood to get "E", the dealer dealt with them and he paid the difference for the up grade, Fleetwood would not back down. Said thats what all there trailers were getting, there call. Ya there out of business now, trailer wise.
That’s a classic “Catch-22". The Vehicle manufacturer has used tires that meet the minimum requirements of the DOT regulations, so, for them, they are in the “ball-park”. You cannot force them to budge from that position without DOT support. The DOT must then support their regulations or rewrite them with new parameters.
So the frustrated RV trailer owner says “to Heck with that” and steps outside of the ropes. JBarca, who has reignited this thread has done it right. Many others will not.
