Rewiring Slide

I found the problem. The guy that did the wiring for me unhooked something in the control panel so the converter or solar would not be charging a front battery. This inadvertently nixed my slide. It was a 5 minute fix. Just have to insulate the front wires so they cannot short out against the frame or something then I can get my trolling motor battery back!

No need to cut holes just run the positive wire in wire loom underneath and use a frame ground for the slide. Or if you like use a piece of plastic electrical conduit for the wire and any future wires.

OK, where did the slide connect?
Does the hot to the old battery have 12v power? Or was that disconnected somewhere?

BTW you also need to check power to your emergency breakaway braking system.

Mine is the same way, the power to the slide does not go thru the 12V distribution center. If yours is the same you need to do as suggested above to determine EXACTLY how your slide is wired since there doesn't seem to be any fixed standard or you need to follow that original battery wire and see where it branches off with one branch going to the slide and the other side to the 12V distribution center/charge ckt. Either that or you need to run a new wire from your new battery bank to that original power wire.

Regardless you need to ensure you provide the proper ckt protection for your slide. Mine uses self setting circuit breakers mounted just behind the battery mounted to the underside of the trailer.

How are you charging these two banks?

I charge the new bank by solar, and a generator when there's no sun. I have removed the original battery.

Unless you have disconnected the original wiring, you should be able to simply bolt the hots together and grounds together ( hot to hot and ground to ground, obviously) power will feed from the load center through the original lines to the slide wires. Both should already be protected by fuses or circuit breakers.
Otherwise , follow the wires and find where to tap in,.

That should easily power the slide. Just connect them with a 40 or 50 amp fuse.

So, just stick a fuse inline where the battery was? I'm not sure there's any power to that atm.
