RG6 Coax for Tailgater

We purchased the Tailgater and would like to make use of our outside connection for Satellite, rather than running coax through a slide and directly into receiver. How can we determine if the connection for satellite on outside of fiver is RG6? It runs from outside the trailer into the entertainment center to an outlet marked Satellite. We have tried this connection but cannot get it to activate. We bought Radio Shack RG6 for use between Satellite In connection and the Receiver.
  • Both Dish and King Controls will tell you that there must be no connections between the Receiver and the Tailgater. I have 5 connections and an A/B switch between them and I often have the Tailgater as much as 100 feet away and it all works fine.
  • The "no connections" thing is easy for them to say. The real story is that all connections have to pass power. If you look at the specs of connectors, some will pass power, some will not, and some splitters will pass power only to one of the sides. I have 2 diplexers and an A/B switch between my receiver and my VuQube. One of the diplexers and the A/B switch pass power to both sides, the other diplexer only passes power to one of the sides. My setup lets me pick easily using 2 A/B switches between cable (bypassing the receiver), satellite at home (bypassing the VuQube controller), or satellite on the road (using the VuQube controller.)

The image below shows a 2 way splitter that only passes power to one of the sides. The second image is a diagram of my setup to do this.
