MEXICOWANDERER
Nov 19, 2014Explorer
I've got a nightmare Harbor Freight 800 watt dos tiempos generator. I would have to downsize power supplies or the WFCO in order to not gag the Honda. A Honda 3000 inverter generator sells for 50,000 pesos here, the exchange rate is 13.4 to one I'll let you do the math. I am forced to keep diesel for the Kubota. Jesus has a 55 gallon drum of pre-treated 2 cycle gasoline around 1/2 mile down at the beach.
I do not want the sun shining on the roof of the house. It'll turn that concrete cube into a pizza oven. Let it shine on the roof of the rig. The parota tree and a sickly coconut palm get the axe.
Getting gasoline is a 70-mile round trip and then gasoline grows 7 legs and runs off into the jungle if it isn't under lock and key.
I talked to a local "Balconeria" a shop that works wrought iron and tube steel (square tubing). He says the roof rack is "No problemo" so the sucker is probably going to be five feet by eight. Things keep changing, which makes prior plans worthless. But his idea is the best and regardless of anything else I am going to go for it. He is going to weld loops every foot on both sides and 100' of 1/8" aircraft stainless cable and padlocks ought to slow down the mice.
As far as the battery is concerned, between the fan, the LED lights, and the BiPAP, I am looking at a serious daily draw. These sorts of things are impossible to pencil out in advance so the only thing I can do is bleat and buy more amperage.
