I thought a MPPT controller effectively gained you 20-30% more amp hours per day from a given panel area? Which if so, means you buy 20-30% less panels and have a 20-30% smaller sized portable panel setup to find storage room for. IAW, 100 watts of mono and MPPT will provide what it takes 120-130 watts of poly and PWM to equal.
I've tested mono and poly side by side. a 230w poly at sea level can do nearly as well as a 245w mono at 10,000 ft, not to mention the monos fall on their face with the lightest clouds. We see a lot of clouds so I'm selling my three mono panels as systems on CL. One is sold and will pay for a nice big set of polys. Not too sure about the 300w panels, somethings fishy there.
