Roo 23SS plumbing issues

We have had our new Roo out for the 3rd time this summer and it seems like plumbing issues keep coming up. First was the leaky toilet, then leak under kitchen sink. A dealer in Phoenix fixed those problems and I thought we were free and clear.

But OH no....now the water pump will come on for no apparent reason and run for a few seconds then shut off. Being that it is a demand system, that makes me think that the water pressure that the pump is seeing has dropped to the start point for the pump.

I suspect a leak somewhere that slowly drips until the system pressure requires another start of the pump to build up pressure again.

I have looked everywhere I can think of and find no stray water, but I am worried about potential wood damage. Am I thinking about this correctly?

Any suggestions as where to hunt. I have been under the bathroom sink, kitchen sink, water filter/hot water heater compartment, and the outside shower facet too. Nothing, no drips that I can find.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve

How will that help when the pressure switch is in the pump?

I was thinking that something is getting on the check valve seat and blocking it open. Perhaps a screen before the pump to catch small particles before they get to the check valve.

  • I have a 23' Roo as well. My pump worked fine for the first 3 seasons but at the end of last season the pump started "burping" about every three minutes. Like the OP I search for a leak from one end to another and could not find any sign of water. Last week I replaced the check-valve and was thrilled when the "burping" stopped. We then went camping for a week and on the 5th day it started again.

It has to be the check-valve because if there was a leak replacing it would have had no affect. I'm extremely frustrated that the "burping" is back and even though the check-valve is not expensive and a fairly easy repair, I'm not about to do it every week.

The next step might be to replace the pump outright.
  • Yes the water pump is cycling due to pressure drop.

Small leaks can be hard to find.........every fitting has to be closely inspected.

    Plus toilet water valve..leaking thru
    Water heater PRV dripping
Pump check valve (internal) can also leak back to fresh water tank
