Rt. Rr. Hydraulic Jack descends while driving Motorhome
Need help with hydraulic jack problem. 2007 Itasca Sunova 26P. Right rear jack has always had some problems. Mind of its own when auto-leveling ~ occassionally after all 'settled' RtRr would raise 2". Had that adjusted. Have had several shop visits to fix.
The latest problem is getting worse to the point of being afraid to use the MH. When MH parked at home and jacks not deployed the RtRr drops down about 1/4 " the other jacks are tight against the upper housing. Usually not a problem. HA! Just got back from 6wk. trip up thru central CA,Or,Wa. About 2nd week in on a 2 lane mountain hwy the jack light/buzzer on dash WENT ON !! Finally found a place to get off hwy.~stopped engine ~ hit'jacks-up'~ light went out. Travelled on to destination no further prob. While at camp ground [CascadeLocks] checked the hyd[tran] fluid found it low and topped off. Deployed Jack put out slides. stayed week left for Wash. Light & buzzer abount BattleGround,Wa. Stopped raised jacks & went on to CastleRock,WA ~ Went on again just as we got there. Stayed a few days and called a halt to vacation.
Checked fluid ~ raised jacks ~ Bought HD Bungees ~ Bungeed landing plate to frame. Headed home. Stopped every RestArea to check. Did not put out slides as did not drop jacks on O/nite campground stays. No more prob. Took MH to local repair shop 4 wks ago. Quite busy for 4thJuly so just 'put it in line' Today owner said they could not replicate the problem ~ while in shop ??? Can't test on road obviously. Mechanic who is working on it said is on lift today and had already dropped a bit will leave it o/nite & remeasure. If still decends could be valve inside not just a seal.
Then they will contact the extended warr. people.
Anyone else have similar problem ~ What was the solution ~~ Thanks
