Ruining An In Tank Electric Fuel Pump?

Well, I find it hard to believe...

Prolonged exposure to air instead of "cooling gasoline" will cause the pump to overheat.

Yet I read a long winded thread that had several "professionals" swearing it was true.

I've used lots of electric pump mounted outside the tank that gave me no trouble at all.

But then the newer pumps are much higher pressure and much smaller.

You've got me...I simply do not have the experience to have a grip on the subject.

First the external pumps are much larger, Better air cooling.

Second, there is no reason to run the pump once the tank is empty.
