Thanks everyone for the responses. Let me answer the issues raised here,
- The demand regulator has a load block. I had already tried adjusting the load block but it had little effect. It still doesn't run smooth.
- I have tried the primer button on the regulator while starting but to no avail.
- The gas source is the supply line pipe from the Gas company.
- The conversion is similar to commonly called "spud in conversion" that can be found online and also on the uscarb site. I can't find the link right now but on youtube there is a guy who converted a honda generator the same way. The only thing i am unsure about is the diameter and length of the inserted tube and the correct location of the drilling.
-The tube inserted in the carb has the same diameter as the gasoline inlet pipe.
- This sort of setup does work. With some effort i found a guy whose generator was converted the same way and it runs on NG.
So, my current situation is that the generator runs on NG but only on choke stuck midway and dies when loaded more than 20%. It still doesn't start on NG. What do you guys think now?
Could be the spud doesn't allow enough vacumm for the demand regulator to open properly with that small of an engine. Or the regulator itself is not working properly.
