It's a Magnatek 6300 which outputs 14.5 volts continuous. That makes my furnaces run much louder than they do at battery voltage of around 12.5. Because of that I had to be careful when choosing a DC-DC converter. I've often wondered when people complain about their loud furnace blower if that's the problem... hmm?
And what do I do when boondocking? The converter is connected to 2 of the 6v series batteries. I doubt it's a good idea to be using the converter, which is connected to 2 of those batteries which are running the inverter which is powering the converter. So that means I'd have to remove the battery wires when on shore, then reconnect them when not. Nah...
So that's why.
