Samsung Cell Phone

My cell phone, a Galaxy (I think 5) by Samsung changes weather locations as we move from town to town. It seems to be stuck on an area about 100 miles from home. We were there for a few days but are now back home and it will not reset. Anyone suggest a fix? To clarify a little further, on my screen there will be a weather information screen. I can just tap it and it will update and/or change locations. It is now stuck on a location 100 miles from here. Hope that helps.

Mine did that too. I sent in a complaint (Wrong city) off the settings app for the weather app and now it is working

First step... Restart the phone Then make sure GPS is enabled Then send the complaint from the menu as I did.
  • I don't know if altitude effects it, but the weather cite it was locked up on was at about 6,500 feet. I also had several blank pages when you scrolled your thumb across the screen and one of my grandkids deleted the blank pages do I didn't have to scroll through so many pages looking for my flashlight app. Maybe that did it. Mr. Wizard always seems to come through for me.

    Great.

Guess we'll never know if it was simply a Setting in need of change.

  • It sounds like you are not describing an Add-On App but rather the Android driven home screen - the one that displays the Time, Date, Temperature, Location, Date, and Last Update info.

If so, just tap on the Weather Temp and see up the top and see Weather Info and Forecast. Up the top right you'll see three dots in a vertical row tap on it and you'll see the opportunity to report wrong city and also the option for "Settings." Hit Settings and untangle your issue with location.
  • very easy

press and hold the weather display on the screen
in a moment the screen will change and display a trash can either top or bottom of screen

drag the weather widget to the trash can
this deletes it from the screen and removes the hung up app from tasks

    now goto apps and widgets
    find the weather widget
and drag it back on the screen

now you are all set again
  • There are a whole bunch of different weather apps, one of which you have. The answer for how to operate them varies with the different apps. If you can identify which app you have, it would likely give you more precise answers.

I use "NOAA Weather Free" from Granite Apps and think it's pretty nicely done. It has a bullseye sort of button at the top of the screen to reset the current position to wherever I am, and a little side menu on the lefthand side to store a few locations (There's a paid version available that removes ads and lets one store any number of locations.)
