Satellite dish Vs receiver
Hoping that someone has the knowledge that I don't, maybe someone that has had the same issue.
I purchased a used Lance slide in that came with a WINEGARD Digital Satellite System with an RS-1000 Antenna. I am a DIRECTV subscriber and I have a Model H25-700 receiver box but have read on the net that the two are not compatible. I called customer support at WINEGARD and they also said the same thing. After that I called DIRECTV and talked to a rep for some time who was very helpful. He said that I might want to try the H25-700 box, go into settings and turn off the HD.
If that is not a winner, it sounds like I will need a D-12 receiver - BUT I don't need another monthly charge added to my DIRECTV bill. If I go this route, can the box be activated as needed? Should I replace my HD box at home with this D-12 for a secondary TV?
