Satellite TV

Each receiver requires its own cable to the LNB on the Dish or Dome! If the receiver is a PVR it will require an additional RG6 Cable .

Only one cable if you are using DirecTv SWM technology.

We also own the Pathway X2. There are two connections on the dish. Run a cable from each connection to a separate receiver and then run an HDMI cable between each receiver and it's television. On our FW, there are separate external connections (one for living room, one for bedroom) that I route the dish's connections to.

We have the Dish tailgater and love it BUT it can only handle one TV and while it works great for us in the west, I understand it isn't as great in the east. We do like the ability to turn it off and not pay a bill while we are not camping.

You'll need to let us know who your provider is....DISH...DIRECTV...??

I can only speak of DISH, so if you want two tv's that you can be viewed separately from each other, you can run one cable from the antenna dish (not the satellite;)) and then use a dual receiver that will require you to use a splitter on the single cable to each receiver input. Since it is a dual receiver, it had two receivers in the same unit.

Previously, I used a DISH 722 dual receiver and it provides me with HD on the 1st receiver output and then SD on the 2nd receiver output. But I can use each tv totally separate from the other. I really wanted HD on both tv's so I got another 722 and ran a 2nd cable from my antenna and split it into the two new inputs.

Now I not only have HD on both tv's, I also have a separate recording receiver for each tv.

If you don't have DISH...well, just forget everything I said above.

With domes (By the way the Winegard X2 is the better of the two you listed) and Dish network, one to a customer (receiver) less you want to always watch shows o the same satellite,

With DirecTV, you can run two receivers off the same dome
With DirecHDTV you can not get HD off a dome

The proper dish,, Whatever you want to do, but it may take two cabels.

You have limited options with the Tailgater and Pathway X2. They are designed to be used only with the series 211 receivers - the Tailgater works only with a single receiver, but the Pathway X2 will work with two separate receivers using two cables, one to each of the connections on the Pathway X2. Other receivers that have dual TV capabilities require more sophisticated dishes.

You can use two TV's with one 211 series receiver, but you have to watch the same thing on both TV's.

We had a Tailgater first, but sold it to get a Pathway X2. If you can afford the extra cash, go for the Pathway X2 rather than the Tailgater. It is a little bigger and therefore harder to stow away, but it is a much more robust unit with a larger antenna inside that will pull in about a 50% stronger signal. It also will receive the southeast satellites as well as the southwest satellites, so you have more options if you are in a site with the southwest satellites blocked by trees.

My brother in Ind has a tailgater. It is on my service and the only drawback is he can't get local channels. They are set up for the area code of the account. This can be changed with a phone call but then I would not get any because I could not access his local sat. But he can use an antenna for local service.

Looks like I will go with the Wineguard Pathway X1, seems like the best bang for the buck since I already have Dish Network at home....
