SCUBA tanks for filling RV tires?

Personally zero experience. Had a friend who did it all the time. Even powered an Ingersoll Rand impact gun. It sure impressed me.

I'm not sure but, I think most of us use a compressor. :)

It can be done,did it long ago when I was diving.Used it to inflate truck inner tube to use a buoy while diving.Also used it after I quit diving to air up tires when out in the desert.

Work great for air guns (you can actually buy an air rifle now that will take medium sized game like deer. You recharge them with a Scuba tank.

Anything is possible and I believe there is an outfit that actually markets a Scuba tank set up for filling tires and running air tools. Not cheap though.

Fancy but unnecessary. Suit yourself.

I've used one, and my FIL has one now. On a full tank you can fill numerous oversized offroad tires.

The only hassle is getting them refilled, but they are awesome while in use.

Don't get too hung up on steel vs alum tanks. For a comparable size the alum tank is a tiny bit heavier because a thicker wall is required for the pressure, but the alum tank will not rust, but it is easier to ding/damage.

I think CO2 is more common for this purpose. Check out Power Tank.

I know of it and the adapters are in the link above. I never did it because I didn't want to carry a tank filled to 3300 psi in the truck bed over some of those roads we go on. I would of had to construct a padded wooden frame or box for the tank. I also did not want to drag a delicate regulator around either. I see there is at least one rig above that eliminates the regulator.

Unless you have a scuba cert card you may have trouble filling a tank tho.

I think any local welding supply place will fill them with non breatheable O2.

O2 is very flammable if a tire should catch fire or explode. Is that a good idea?
