sealing underbelly

I recently had to drop the polyethylene underbelly while doing some repair work. I now have some gaps between the freshwater tank drain as well as kitchen sink drain and the underbelly.

The factory used some type of black sealant, but my local RV parts dealership said they use the spray foam that comes in cans (the type used in homes for weather proofing).

Any suggestions??

Thanks for all the input and glad to hear the foam is the product of choice. It's my understanding you can get both open and closed cell foam, and the closed cell won't expand as much as the open cell.

I haven't checked on them yet but will look for the door and window. The black would be nice if available.

  • My camper ... factory done ... has every hole, nook and cranny with that spray foam in it. Feel free to "spray away full speed ahead!"
  • Use the spray foam but don't get it on your cloths or skin - it's just about permanent!
