It is hard, if not impossible, for most brick & mortar stores to stay in business. Sears isn't the first to go away, and it certainly won't be the last.
And it is unfair to just blame business or investors. Consumers are driving this as well. People (myself included) want to pay as little as possible. And with the internet, they easily have the ability to shop based on price.
The incompetent employees are icing on the cake. Why does anyone want to go into a store, to get sub-par service, and have to deal with the crowds, when you can look something up on line, get reviews to see what others feel about the product, order it at the best price, and have it at your house two days later?
