Now the doctors treat people requesting opioids like child molesters.
I understand this completely. I have actually been 50 years in health care. I remember in the 70's the nurses would withhold opioids because they we're all scared of respiratory depression(a baseless fear if given as directed), and so many patients suffered. Then in the 90's they woke up, and pushed pain relief with opioids and the situation improved for folks with serious pain. Now with all the hysteria over opioids, it has swung back to the 70's except worse. The "opioid crisis" is in full hysteria mode, and patients that really need pain relief are forgotten. Politics gets involved and makes the situation worse. The government sets up databases that track physician prescribing, and this intimidates the good doctors from prescribing pain relief. Most opioid overdoses are not from Oxycodone. The real problem is Fentanyl laced heroin. As a former Anesthetist, I used Fentanyl daily in the operating room. It's a disaster that china is pushing it into this country. Fentanyl is the mainstay narcotic adjunct for pain during operations. I could go on all day about how powerful it is, but I think you get the idea. I'm a pain patient myself, but what ails me cannot compare with what your dealing with. I hope you can find the strength to keep going. You seem to have a strong will to live. Thank you for sharing. You really are a fine asset to the forum.
