WTF?
My point IS, the insurance is not free. You made a statement that the insurance was free. PLAN MEMBER is not free. That would be like stating KAISER HOSPITALS are
FREE. The CHEAPEST anything Seguro popular offers costs 88 dollars a year and they have one hell of a cap on expenses. In Michoacan I had an IMSS plan which is not transferrable state to state. It's a start from scratch.
Having endured Seguro Popular, I can truthfully say the quality of care is atrocious. The food is something a dog would reject. CD ROM tortillas. Before I got my pacemaker the MD's at an IMSS in Lazaro scratched their ass deciding what kind of care I needed. In Chula Vista CA. I was admitted and three days later the dual probe pacemaker was installed forever ending my bradycardia.
Good care is available at first tier hospitals. The "NO BAD DAYS" ex pats always fall back on that. Problem is, being referred from a 3rd tier facility through 2nd tier (Morelia) to 1st tier (Zapoapan Jalisco) can take months.
Sonny, you show up at a hospital without VERIFIED CURRENT INSURANCE you're going to take it right up the bung with full cost payable immediately except for first aid issues. I did not spend three hours in a Seguro Popular office of administration scratching my *** I read chapter and verse.
