I think you need to re-read these. As I said the thing these old stores have going for them is available space, and electrical feeds, but that's about it. Its a re-purposeing of the real estate. Moreover, the articles highlight the need to re-engineer the mechanical in the facilities to turn them into useable data centers. This is major work we're talking about, not just a matter of hooking up the data circuits and putting some racks on the floor. Its a cool idea, but I think you just misunderstand what needs to happen to make these state of the art data centers.
