- I will stick with my flimsy cable lock. If the person needs it that bad it is best to be done and gone asap.

Well, it could go either way, was my point.
You could be telling the Rambos to go easy, with a comma. Or you could be pointing out that they are the easy kind of Rambos, posturing on the internet, with no comma.
I liked the ambiguity. - mlts22Explorer IIOf course, don't forget the irony:
About a decade ago, I had thief jump over in my courtyard where I had a bike chained up, leave the bicycle, but steal the security chain locking the bike up. The chain manufacturer offered to send me a new one, but I wasn't sure at the time if it was stolen or if it was just misplaced, so declined that.
The morale of that story is to use a lock that is as secure, if not more so, than the chain. - fj12ryderExplorer III

Going to jail is a bit harsh to prevent a theft, isn't it? I prefer deterrence myself. - NaioExplorer II

No security chain is going to last long against an angle grinder and someone who knows what they are doing with it.
Yup, and as it happens I carry one of those.
The best security chain is much shorter, has a Rottweiler at one end and an owner with a shotgun at the other.
Trust me. You do NOT want to cut that chain.
