Naio,
Solar is nice .... but solar requires the sun or camping as many nights as possible under a street light.
IMHO, for camping anytime anywhere: Either have only a small, quiet, gas sipping generator or a fuel cell to charge batteries anytime anywhere - or alternatively - a small, quiet, gas sipping generator or fuel cell and solar or wind-gnerator to trade back and forth depending upon conditions to charge the batteries ... but never have only solar onboard to charge batteries ... or you'll wind up camping where the weather forecast leads you instead of where the spirit leads you.
We don't have solar, but we have a very small and very quiet generator to charge our batteries ... that's all it does, so it is small, quiet, and runs on air.
P.S. Non-use of RV generators is not going to save the planet. Raising and eating less meat everywhere in the world is.
