I just insralled an adjustable length Sani-Tubes sewer hose carrier on my trailer. Its a really nice unit however I'm concerned with the fact the unit seals up really well when closed. Most of the time I put my hose away its covered in water from rinsing off. Should I drill a few holes in the unit to allow it to vent out properly?

Your confused... Im talking about a carrier/storage tube for the sewer hose. But thanks for the snarky worthless response... I bet you make a lot of friends in campgrounds.

My home made carrier (6" square PVC) has a 1" diameter hole in each end cap and a 1/2" hole in the bottom of each end to allow air in and water out. The hose is always dry by the time we get home from the weekend camp. Go for it.

I drilled multiple 1/8" holes rather than a couple big 1/2 or 3/8" holes, to help prevent pests from congregating inside the sewer hose storage tube.

Yes vent it! This is why there is square vent holes on the back bumper carriers. I would recommend cutting a piece of nylon screen and supper glue it to cover the vent hole to keep wasps (Etc.) from building a home.

I drilled 1/2" dia holes thru the top every 12". It's been working for me for several years now.

3/8 or 1/4 inch holes near both ends and drill close to bottom. Won't see holes from rear, will still dry with air circulation and birds won't get in and set up house keeping with that size of holes.

I drilled 3/8" holes in the bottom of my hose carrier to let it air dry and when I get home I rinse the hose out thoroughly and I let it air dry it before I put it back into the carrier. By doing this, I've found that the hose dries thoroughly and the wire embeded in the plastic does not rust out so quickly.

I just hang the sewer hose over the steering wheel of our truck during the drive home so that it can dry out.....:)

Seriously, I drilled a bunch of 1/2" holes in ours.

Yes, in that case ventilation is very good, to let it all dry out.

Yes. If you ever notice, most TTs with bumper storage for sewer hoses have end caps with holes in them for ventilation. Allows the hose and bumper to dry.
