Solar voltaics is a red-item down here. The panels should be kept out-of-sight of the Customs agents and crooks. Overnighting in hotels for better than a week. Using 100' of 316 stainless cable for security. That and the feet of the rack are insulated. A nice match for my 30-mile new 12-volt fence charger.
What happened down south?
Doesn't sound like the kind of place many of use would want to live or even visit anymore
We use to go down there quite a bit, especially at this time of year. Then it got commercialized so we started renting cars and getting away from that. The last time we were touring the Yucatan and we experienced some of the issues down there first hand. Nothing too serious but it made us realize we were not safe doing what we were. News reports just confirmed that so we went farther south.
I hope they get the issues taken care of while I can still go back to seeing and photographing Mexico my way. I waited all day to get a even shot of this.

A tour from Merida to Celestun to see the Flamingos took all day in a crowded van to see the edge of the flock for 15 mins in a over loaded boat. We drove back the next morning, took a private boat and quietly drifted through the flock for hours. The driver said save a few shots for when he had to start the motor and wow. You just don't get that on a tour, in a resort or eating at Outback.
