Should I buy this roll of 10 gauge wire?

About 200' for $30. Stranded copper, oil and gas and heat resistant. But is it fat enough for anything useful?
  • Sound like a good deal, but you might want to question where it came from. Hate to see you caught either in a scam, or for buying stolen property. Got lots of stuff like that hanging in my shop, just in case I ever need it.
  • Check Home Depot first. Home Depot sells #12 stranded THHN wire 500 ft for about $45. #10 probably not that much more expensive.

Oh, wow! I have only priced larger gauges recently, and they were MUCH more expensive. Thank you.
  • $78.97 at Home Depot and Lowes. 500 ft. 10/1 Stranded THHN Wire
  • Single wire or cable. Had to redefine question. Sorry Re-edit: still got it wrong, OP said stranded. Single wire or multi-wire cable?? Still sounds wrong, but maybe someone will understand. What should I have said??
  • Naio there is a lot of garbage out there. If the insulation is marked THHN THNN or THWN it is building wire, rated for home voltage. Stiff to bend but otherwise good wire. Chinese wire is garbage cheating too small of copper.

Try these guys for a good value on tin plated flexible wire

It is real copper. But it sounds like it's not as great a deal as I thought, and I do not have an immediate need.

I have SO MUCH tool junk -- stuff that might be useful someday. And often it is, but...

Thanks, Mex, for the link. I will check them out.

I need some 6/8 gauge very-flexible stuff for my shave ice machine.
  • If its all copper, 200 ft of 10ga for 30 bucks, is dirt cheap, whether it be house wire, or more flexable automotive wire.
