You might want to pick up a Progressive Dynamics 4600 for your spares box. but I'd not replace the WFCO till it fails.
Our trailer is now 7 years old and still running with the original WFCO converter. It still functions the same as it did when new. While it is true that it normally will not hit the higher charge voltages, I allow about 4 hours of generator(gas sipping EU 1000)run time every morning for two weeks of dry camping. I monitor the charge current to our single Trojan SCS 200 (Gr 27 115 AH) 12V battery with a clamp-on Ammeter until it drops below 3A before shutting off the generator. Not efficient? Maybe not but 2.5 gallons of gas lasts me two weeks so it is not an issue for me.
