Another very important issue to consider is how far from the bank is your converter; and is the wiring sufficient? This may affect your decision, as well.
If the bank and converter are in close proximity, then certainly a PD with an extended boost feature would work well. OTOH, if the bank is a long ways from the conveter, it is much cheaper, and much less work, to simply hook up a charger right next to the bank, than upgrade all the wiring.
And yet another issue is voltage drop thru various circuit breakers and such. Snowman has a thread about that.
