Please see my post above. I'm trying my best to keep your costs down, but its difficult seeing as big amps cost big bucks. I bought a 1080w 60 amp Turnigy Power Supply for $125, but it has its issues with the type of over current protection it has. I have solved the issue, but it involves using yet another psu to get things started. Probably not something you want to get in to.
To the best of my knowledge, the so-called desulfation mode on the power max's is the 14.6v boost voltage. I modified my pm4b, so it no longer has 4 stages, just "boost and abs", better described as constant current and constant voltage.
Here is a link to a previous discussion about replacing a wfco with various PD's, of which I have no first hand experience with.
