I wonder if there would be any major disadvantage in purchasing a S-400-55 now, keep the stock WFCO 8955, monitor it's performance,and if it does not meet it's published specs, as has been described on this thread, wouldn't that be a warranty issue? In thinking further, I suppose that all WFCO would do would do is, at best, send a replacement. Just a thought.
I greatly appreciate your making suggestions that try to keep the cost down. A couple of posts on this thread question my wishing to keep the cost as low as possible, one saying something to the effect "after spending thousands of dollars on a new TT why are you reluctant to spend a few hundred dollars on a converter" (paraphrase). For my situation that reasoning is backward - the reason I'm reluctant to spend more than I have to is BECAUSE of spending those thousands of dollars on a new rig, that expenditure having nearly exhausted my funds.
