Interesting, I have heard the Trimetric isn't very accurate at the top end of charging. A number I have read several times is above 80%. It's one of the reasons I went with a good voltmeter and ammeter.
I rarely camp with hookups, or even in a campground, so I know what you mean about wasting time. Solar doesn't cut if for me thou, the time of year where solar would work I dont need the heater, and when it's heating season there isn't enough sun. Gas is just cheaper in the long run. I get 2 nights in the 20's out of 300AH and that's plenty with work and school schedules.
The PD4655 is leaps and bounds above the POS WFCO, in all modes of charging.
