Hi Mike,
How long are your RV trips in off the grid land?
I would NOT worry about equalizing on the generator. That eliminates the need for 15.5 volts. Very few folks would consider equalizing on a generator power source--again with the exception being "opportunity" charging while running an air conditioner.
Personally if I need the air conditioner for more than an hour or so I start looking for a shore power site.
