FWIW, I made my decision. I went with the devil known. I bought my 3rd PD converter, a 9260. I happened to catch a bargain for a surplus new one on ebay. I couldn't pass up the deal, so there you go. At some point this year, I'll report on how it does with my Onan genset. I'm hoping my solar will handle most of my needs anyway.
