It would work the same. The features of the PM would be worth the extra $30 to me. The Mean Well needs a power cord and on-off switch at a minimum, so those eat up some of the savings. Then you still don't get a good manual knob and a volt meter. That's my way of looking at it. Let me tell you, I'm always trying to cheap out and beat the system, so I know how you are looking at it.
