Decision made and Megawatt S-400-12 ordered. To a great extent this decision was financially driven. I believe this unit will do what I need for around $150 or more less than other units that can do Trojan's recommended charging parameters, although not as rapidly or conveniently. If I can get 6 months of adequate service from the Megawatt I will be satisfied and I don't believe I will regret the choice.
Also, I do hope to go to solar sometime next year and at this point I don't feel I have sufficient knowledge to choose a converter/charger for a solar system, and might make a mistake it I did this now. If the Megawatt is a mistake at least it's not a costly one.
I greatly appreciate all of the input I've received on this thread. I've been active on many different online forums involving many different topics for a lot of years, and this forum is tops. The depth and breadth of knowledge of the participants, and their willingness to make the effort and take the time to pass along this knowledge is unsurpassed in my experience. Thank you all so much for your help.
