Unless your other one is free, DON'T BUY IT!
This pump has been plagued since day one and the forums are covered with people who have had and replaced them more than once, including me. It's apparently core design flaw that they have tried to redesign at least once without success.
I blew my second one last week, flooding a storage bay, after only 2 occasional use years and the factory is replacing it with a completely new model for free. They too have given up on the entire 5.7 line. Out of production, and no service.
Interesting about the discontinuance of this pump. Has Shurflo ever owned up to all the problems? After going to their website, it appears they are still promoting the 5.7 pump for larger units and the 4.0 for medium sized units?? I'll give their pump one more try, but if I have problems again, I'll probably just look at changing name brands entirely. After 30+ years of RVing, this is the first pump problem I have ever had.:( Oh well, just lucky I guess.
