change out Shurflo 5.7 for Shurflo 4008 water pump

I have a Shurflo 5.7 pump which has a cracked and broken piece in the pump. I would like to change it to a new Shurflo 4008 water pump. I understand 5.7 pumps are no longer available. Has anyone done this swap? Any problems?

  • Found this on the net last year:
    RV water pumps

If you were happy with that model of pump you can repair it for the $26 or buy a new one (Shurflo Classic---2.8gpm/45#) for $67

Or you can upgrade. Shurflo Revolution (3gpm/55#) for $65

    Or Shurflo Revolution 4048 (4gpm/55#) for $150

  • Amazon.com has the 4022 pump for $70.

To bad they are not selling replacement parts, I have one of the 5.7 pumps. I have one, and really like it. I will have to make sure I don't break it by leaving any water in it to freeze.
