I doubt they've publicly said "we screwed up", but That conversation took place with the folks at the SurFlo booth in Quartzsite 2 years ago. At the time they said that it was a defective design and had been redesigned, so like an idiot I bought another. Since then there are lots of posts about it on the 3 major RV forums as well. They are doing the right thing and swapping mine out with a 4048 (iirc). How well it performs is yet to be seen. It's a pretty expensive pump, so we'll see if it stays or ends up as a spare for a FloJet
