Ok I just unscrewed the strainer and it is totally clean. I rinsed it out and replaced it. Judging by the size of the white particles that plugged my aerators, I don't think they would have gotten through the strainer. Oh well, the system works now but I'm not really sure what the white particles on the aerators were or where they came from. Weird huh? Thanks all.
The inlet strainer helps keep debris from fresh water tank out of the pump.
Hard water can leave deposits in pump, lines, faucets etc. especially after it has gone thru water heater.....where most deposits from hard water collect.
In future after draining/flushing water heater remove aerators and then run pump to flush lines etc. then install aerators.
