Back in the early 50's, my Dad drove big rigs to make ends meet when times were tough. I remember him taking me along and whenever he would come upon a truck from the opposite direction (in the day time), he would always give a quick flash of his headlights to the oncoming trucker. I thought it was so neat that he would let me flash the lights. And when the on coming trucker would flash his lights back, I thought it was like he was saying "hi" to me personally.
Of course, back then, there wasn't near the trucks there are today.
