Single big battery v/s 2 batteries in parallel

Due to size limitations of the battery tray on the frame of my travel trailer, I can fit 2 smaller batteries side by side, or one big battery. So, which would be better? Get 2 batteries and put them...

Yes.

If you're (not you, personally) the kind who likes to wring every last amp-hour from your batteries by running them for 7 years, then your chances of have a cell "go bad" are pretty good.
