SiO2 has almost the same characteristics as a Gel Cell (it is a gel cell) which is about the same as an AGM or any other 'starved electrolyte' lead acid battery. The one quirk is lower freezing point of the electrolyte, but unless you need that, save a bunch of money and buy AGM batteries from a reputable manufacturer.
As for charging, the acceptance current will decrease in absorption, just like any other lead acid. SiO2 also needs to be fully recharged to prevent sulfation. Take a close look on the label of these batteries - it is stated right there:
