There are a couple of companies that have sold these 'lead crystal' batteries to the TelCos for years. One is 'Green Rhino', and they have some actual detailed specs for these:

Check the cyclic charge graphs on page 16. They allow up to 0.3C charge, but you are still looking at 3.5hrs of absorption.
The reduced electrolyte is a double edged sword - you may get less sulfation, but the sulfate ions are still driving the electrochemistry, so with less available electrolyte even the removal of a small amount of sulfate can impact performance.
