They will have fewer cranking amps than a starting battery, but ought to work in good conditions. (ie tractor starts easily)
Question is recharging them. A starting battery gets recharged right away with its thin plates. A GC2 has thicker plates. IMO try it and do some hydrometer checking after each tractor use until you are sure the GC2 is getting recharged ok.
