Slide alignment problem after awning hangs

Forgot to mention that the metal on metal rust in the piture goes only half way down the arm. The other half which is on the outside is clean. So when the slide is half way in, it must be tracking better in the outer arm. Probably just barely because you can't see much evidence of it shifting right on the pinion gear.
