Slide-outs Manual Op plan needed...

I need to have a plan for when/if the slides fail. First, I'm trying to track down the make/model/serial# for my slides, and the Forest River people don't answer calls, so maybe someone can point out where to find this, and a resource for self-training this manual contingency plan. Original spec sheet shows Leppert/ALKO/Norco for the slide mechanism. Maybe that's all I can find out.
Just trying to nail it down a bit before I dig in. Thanks!

  • Signature TT has a single superslide with 3' of extension. It is hydraulically operated with a single cylinder. both ends of the cylinder are threaded and stick through holes in the frame and slide. There are two nuts on either end, one on the 'push' side and one on the 'pull' side of the hole.

In the event of a hydraulic failure I carry two wrenches to remove the nuts at either end and dismount the cylinder. In its place I will install two large eyebolts with large washers. I carry a come along which I will attach to the eyebolts, suck the slide in, and go home.
  • Check out the Lippert site:

I have found them very responsive when you call them. ST
  • Mechanical or hydraulic?

Most mechanical systems can be operated with a hand crank.
