Slide repair/rebuild costs. Seals, guides lo

Has anyone had to replace all the seals on a slide and maybe some rebuilding within the slide. What were the costs? I have two 12' slides. What extra work was needed?

Thanks
Jeff
  • There are several types of seals, but I purchased 35' of D-bulb seal for just over $80. I only needed to replace 12' on slide top, but still can replace both sides, when needed.

Don't know what rebuilding you mention, but the seals are easy to replace, as they just slide off/on the wiper channel.

  • I think you will have better response if this post were in the Tech Issues forum where it really belongs. I will move it there.

  • I replaced the seals on my big slide. I don't remember the cost. It was a bit tricky getting the fit/clearance just right.
  • MFL. I have replaced the D seals, but I need all the rest. I'm under the impression that the slides must be removed to replace the wipers and seals.
  • I replaced mine. It is "P" seal. Not hard, but sort of labor intensive. The hardest part was removing the old adhesive. Also, there are many different configuration of seals. Most slides don't need to be removed. https://uni-grip.com/

While I've not replaced wipers on mine, I can see they would be more difficult, especially the inside top. I don't think mine would require slide removal, but would have to be partly extended to reach.

  • Thanks for the responses. Decided to just replace the trailer. I'm not monitoring this post anymore but if someone wants to jump on and continue it, go for.
