Advantages are high efficiency, low start up power surge, lower center of gravity. Variable speed compressor and fans provide low noise, less wind and less temperature swing at part load, lower generator noise at reduced rpm, longer fuel runs.
So you have the advantages of a high and low capacity ac in one unit.
As a bonus you also get a heat pump, much more efficient than resistance heating.
