There are many things about Li that make it at least as finicky as flooded.
They don't like being charged when cold.
They don't like being charged when hot, and they also don't like running when hot.
They don't like being discharged down to zero, minimum 10-15% SOC is recommended.
They don't like being charged to 100% every time, max 75-80% SOC is recommended, with only occasional 100%.
They don't like staying on charger after 75-100% has been reached - there is no absorption or floating stage, the charger MUST shut down unless there is some current draw at the moment.
They are more sensitive than flooded when being charged at higher C/x than recommended.
Their individual jars can become unbalanced, same as flooded. But, unlike flooded, deteriorated Li cells can't be "equalized" (and then treated as all other cells). They require CONSTANT monitoring and correction of current by battery management system. BMS has to be included with the battery, unless you can make your own and know what you are doing.
They can't be recycled - difficult, financially not viable, no companies doing it - if this is important. They basically go to dumpster.
