Yes, I could just add more panels rather than change controllers. The same panels are on sale for as cheap I've ever seen them, too, at $112 plus shipping.

My controller has enough capacity for me to add 2 more identical panels. But I don't want to do any more mounting and drilling and sealing. Swapping to an MPPT controller would be an easy way to optimize what I already have. So I'm just exploring the concept.
