Hi all.
I am in proses of installing solar on my FW I planed on installing 2
/150v panels but made mistake when ordering and ordered 2 lots of 2 so have got 4/150v panels, also got 30' of 8AVG cable to split to my trimetric sc 2030 controller and 2030 monitor. cable is rated for 600v so is this a little to small or will it be ok. At panels max 36A !6' to controller .7219v drop or 4.0108% drop.2 260A 6V Crown Batteries what are your thoughts.
Frank.
Are these panels 150 volt panels? If so they will NOT work with the SC2030 solar charge controller. If there 150 Watt 12 volt panels then they will work. I would recomend using only three panels as 4 will cause it to clip anything over 31 amps and cause the controller to heat up. Do not allow the controller to get above 130 F if you install 4 panels. If i were you i would go for much lower voltage drop ie 6awg to a combiner box on the roof and 4awg to the controller and batteries stay below 2% voltage drop (if not less to get the most from your system)
