About 17 years ago I installed a 24 panel array (with trackers) in the USA. There was a distance of around 60' between panels and controller. The 1 gauge direct burial wire I was forced to use cost more than a small fortune. The 60' was bad enough. But the 100' run of wire to the house was a killer. The owner thought my idea of using a 2nd dedicated inverter to feed a separate line and then use a power supply was too complicated. He wanted 12-volt service.
